Enviromental enrichmnet
The greatest dangers animals that live in captivity face are boredom and inactivity. In their natural habitats, they have to search for food and mates and escape from their enemies. Since zoo animals do not need to deal with any of these activities, they very often get bored. This, combinated with lack of stimuli, may alter their behaviour.
They become less active and undesired behavioural patterns, such as compulsive movements, may develop. Therefore, it is our task to enable the animals to behave in a way as they would in their habitats. For this reason , we have added stones and a variety of plants tot he their runways to provide them with sufficient stimuliti.
During the show feeding, visitors can see how some of the species capture their prey and feed.
